Caroline Helsen is a Belgian model, photographer and multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between fashion, image-making and contemporary visual culture.
Based in Antwerp, Helsen has developed a distinctive presence within the international fashion industry, working across editorial, campaign and runway projects. Her practice is characterised by a strong sensitivity to image, styling and composition, with a visual language that often draws on references from vintage fashion, cinema and popular culture.
Alongside her career as a model, Caroline Helsen has developed her own creative projects, exploring photography, design and the construction of miniature worlds. Through these projects, she extends her relationship with fashion beyond the traditional role of the model, becoming an image-maker and creative voice in her own right.
Her work has appeared in international fashion publications and editorial projects, while her modelling career has brought her into collaboration with leading fashion houses and designers. Her portfolio includes work associated with Dior, Rokh and other contemporary fashion labels, reflecting her ability to move naturally between high fashion, editorial imagery and more experimental visual projects.
Helsen is also known for Miniverselle, an artistic project exploring fashion through miniature figures and carefully constructed scenes. Caroline Helsen & Purienne
Caroline Helsen’s creative practice extends beyond her work in fashion and modelling through collaborations that explore the relationship between the body, image, styling and visual culture. One of these projects is ZEN, created in collaboration with photographer Henrik Purienne.
Published as part of Purienne’s photographic work, ZEN brings together recomposed swimwear forms featuring Caroline Helsen with summer-inspired ritual oils and ancient adornments. The project explores a sensual and highly stylised visual language, combining fashion, photography, beauty and contemporary interpretations of the female form.
The collaboration reflects Caroline Helsen’s ability to move between modelling and creative image-making, contributing to a visual universe in which fashion becomes part of a broader artistic narrative.
ZEN is presented as a limited first edition of 1,000 copies, published as a 280-page softcover book measuring 30 × 22 cm. The edition is printed on hand-selected, sustainable and 100% recycled paper, with natural variations in the material intentionally preserved as part of its wabi-sabi aesthetic.
